Steam an assortment of veggies and toss with a sesame seed dressing to make a healthy, tasty salad. Add roasted tofu or chicken for more of a meal.
Put 1 inch of water in a large pot and bring to a boil. Fill a bowl with ice water.
In a steamer or colander, add the bok choy leaves. Set over the boiling water and steam until leaves are bright green, about 5 minutes. Immediately plunge into ice water. Drain and pat dry.
Do the same with the green beans: steam for 5 minutes then plunge into ice water, drain and pat dry.
Add the broccoli to the steamer, steam for 3 minutes, plunge into ice water, drain and pat dry.
Put all the veggies in your serving dish.
Toast sesame seeds in small skillet over very low heat for 5 minutes or until golden, shaking pan often. Watch carefully as they will easily burn. Grind seeds in a mortar and pestle or in food processor until just flaky, about 12 seconds. Transfer seeds to a small bowl. Stir in tamari, honey, vinegar and 1 Tbsp water. Toss vegetables with dressing. Serve.
